“Five Things I Wish Someone Told Me When I Started Kayaking” with John Chase

It sounds easy; buy a boat, put it in the water, start paddling – but that’s not always the case. During this presentation, we will talk about what you need, what you can leave behind, and what John wished he would have known during his early days of paddling.

Come join John Chase; ACA Level 3 coastal kayak instructor, and author of the book Power to the Paddle: Exercises to improve your Canoe and Kayak Paddling, for an evening where we will explore answers to the questions you’ve been afraid to ask, but need to know. A great listen for paddlers of all levels.

World Tour Paddling Film Festival

The Paddling Film Festival has been showcasing the very best paddling films since 2006. Be inspired to explore rivers, lakes and oceans, push extremes, appreciate wild places and fully embrace the paddling lifestyle. Each year the tour makes stops in more than 135 cities, and this will be the only event in Michigan.

– Doors open at 5:30pm, Show starts at 6:30pm

– Film viewing at the GT Civic Center’s Howe Arena.
