Cam Brensinger spent five sleepless hours in a poorly designed bivy in 2002, and NEMO Equipment was founded shortly thereafter. The name NEMO was inspired by Jules Verne’s Captain Nemo, and coincidentally alluded to ‘New England Mountain Outfitters.’ To this day, NEMO makes some of the most innovative sleeping bags, tents and sleeping pads on the market.
